About you
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your interior business? What kind of projects do you typically work on?
Before interior design, I came direct from London’s West End as a professional dance turned agent. After pivoting into interior design, I formed TXTURED, a high end interior design studio based on story telling and the senses through design. We work on high end residential and commercial projects across the UK and very soon internationally.
How long have you been in the industry, and what do you love most about being an interior designer?
The studio has been operating for two years now and are in a very exciting time of growth. What I love about interior design is seeing the transformation and seeing the clients live in the spaces, sending me photos how the parties they have thrown and things they have celebrated there.
The show experience
Why is attending interior design shows like Design Central important to you as a professional? It is important to find new suppliers and products. I like to stay inspired for future projects.
What makes Design Central stand out from other trade shows you’ve attended?
I love where it is set, the grounds are beautiful and it feels like a proper day out.
Can you share a memorable moment or highlight from your visit to the show?
A memorable moment is that I made a life long friend from the show. I met her working for a supplier and then she went onto freelancing for me and attended my 40th birthday last month.
How does seeing and experiencing products in person change the way you source for projects compared to online sourcing?
It’s a complete difference. Seeing how it feels is very different to a computer screen. I'm not a fan of online sourcing.
Networking and community
How has attending Design Central helped you connect with suppliers or fellow designers?
I have met up with other designers at the show which is always good to build your community and form stronger relationships with suppliers.
Have you built any valuable relationships at the show that have benefited your business?
Yes, KQC, I know I can rely on. Always helpful and responsive.
What’s the biggest advantage of being part of the Design Central community?
Not feeling that you are alone. It can be a lonely industry but I love connecting and making new friends.
